Pets chew carpet by the tile all the time. Sometimes we can stretch it back up to the tile, cut off excess carpet and re-tack it. Other times, we would need to path it. If you have carpet damage that looks similar to the photo below, it will need to be patched. Next to it is the after photo of the patch one of our technicians did. We took a piece from a closet, cut out the damaged carpet and installed the closet carpet in the doorway. We also placed a non matching carpet remnant back into the closet so our customer was not left with a hole in the closet.
