We receive a lot of calls from customers who accidentally spilled bleach on their carpet or used a cleaning agent that contained bleach. One type of repair that we offer for this type of damage is carpet dyeing. When the carpet dyeing technician comes onsite he will evaluate the carpet fibers to ensure they would be able to work with the permanent carpet dye. Some carpet has a stain blocker, which may inhibit absorption of our dye. If carpet can be dyed he will then neutralize any residual bleach so that the dye will adhere to the carpet fibers, then he will color match the bleach spot to the surrounding area. Once the area dries the color should lighten up to a great match. We guarantee that our dyes to be permanent and colorfast for the life of the carpet. The products we use are completely non-toxic and odor-free. Making this process safe for you, your children and your pets. When the technician is done the carpet will be damp but the dye is immediately colorfast. The carpet will fully dry within a few hours. If the technician decides that the bleached area is not a candidate for carpet dyeing we can still repair the area. At this point the tech will offer an actual carpet repair where he would cut out the damaged area and permanently graft in a new section of matching carpet. If you do not have left over carpet from the original installation our tech would take matching carpet from the back of a closet. He would then replace the carpet we take with a non-matching beige or brown carpet so you are not left with a hole. If you are concerned with what carpet goes back in the closet you can go to Home Depot or Lowes and purchase a similar carpet to what is in your home and will happily put that back in the closet for you.
