Last week our owner, Robert, was able to attend the International Restoration Convention + Industry Expo here in Phoenix, AZ. The expo was held at the beautiful Hyatt Regency in downtown Phoenix on April 30th through May 2nd.
There was a general session with Xactware‘s Mike Fulton and Greg Payne. Xactware Solutions provides computer software for estimating water restoration jobs. The first day keynote session was Rick Rigsby. Rick is President and CEO of Rick Rigsby Communications. He shared wisdom of past generations that inspired, motivated and empowered us to make an impact rather than an impression! There were breakout sessions on Expanding Locations, Building an Effective Sales Plan, The Contents Quandary and Everyday Restorers. On the second day the first keynote speaker was Eric Chester. Eric has the leading voice in attracting, managing, motivating and retaining the emerging workforce. We discovered how to create a pipeline of talent, increase application flow, and on board new employees to make a lasting impression. The second keynote speaker was Mike Michalowicz. Mike runs a million dollar venture and is a popular keynote speaker on innovative entrepreneurial topics. Takeaways from his session were how to implement profit first, how bank balance accounting works and how profit first works with our existing habits. The last of the breakout sessions included is company culture affecting your bottom line, transparency and control, professionalism in the drying industry, documenting claims in 3D with Matterport, restoration rescue and CLO2 Now available for restoration contract pros. There was also networking events, exhibitors with new and exciting products and sponsors.
Robert enjoyed his time with the RIA community and came away with valuable insight, new networking connections, and a fresh outlook that he can apply to our work in the industry. We are looking forward to attending next years expo.
