This client had a water leak in her walk-in closet which was caused by her A/C overflow pan that flooded. Mold loves dark, wet places and can develop in as little as 24-48 hours so time is essential in these situations. Once onsite our technician tested for moisture, then pulled up the carpet and removed the wet padding. Using top of the line water restoration equipment we set up air movers to dry out the area as quickly as possible and a dehumidifier. The dehumidifier will remove the moisture from the air which will also eliminate the musty odor that our customer was reporting smelling. We then leave the air movers and dehumidifier as long as necessary to completely dry out the area. When we returned to her home we replaced the padding, stretched and re-tacked the carpet back into place and then cleaned the carpet. After water damage we always use a non-toxic, botanical disinfectant called Benefect. Benefect is used in hospitals and will kill 99.99% of germs and bacteria.
