The way to completely rid of this is to removed the contaminated carpet and pad; next, seal the sub-floor with an enzymatic treatment that kills the bacteria that is present. This not only rids of the odor (caused by the bacteria) it also prevents any remaining contaminants that might be present in the sub-floor from seeping back up into your carpet and pad and causing potential stains and odor again.
